BIBLE PROPHECY FULFILLED

1. What does it mean that "I plant trees"?

If you are on a pilgrimage or other visit to Israel, we can arrange for you to actually plant trees with your own hands. Otherwise, this is a symbolic act and in return you will receive a special tree planting certificate. It is the JNF in Israel - called Keren Kayemeth L'Israel (KKL/JNF) in Hebrew - who will actually do the tree planting on your behalf.

2. Can my symbolically "planting trees" actually help fulfill Bible Prophecy?

Indeed it can – and does. In the words of Pastor David Dekker of Jerusalem: God has a plan, and it's one that He constantly invites us to take part in. He is always hoping that we will choose ways to act as the instruments to fulfill that plan. When we plant trees in the Bible Land we are actually helping fulfill very real, specific prophecies, like the one, for example, in Ezekiel 34:27 that talks of the return of the Jewish people to Israel
"And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD".

3. How many trees can I plant?

You can plant as many trees as you like as one donation, and that will be recognized on the special certificate that you will be sent. Of course you can also plant trees on as many different occasions as you like.

4. Why does it cost only $18 – and not a simple round number like $20?

This is also highly symbolic. In Hebrew there are no numbers and so the letters of the alphabet also stand for numbers. It's like a code in which A = 1, B = 2, C = 3 etc. 18 is a combination of the Hebrew letters and 10 = é   8 = ç . Together these spell çé (chai – with a guttural ch like in the Scottish loch) the Hebrew word for Life.  So when you give $18 you are actually giving Life to Israel – and may God bless you for it.

5. What kinds of trees are planted?

A wide range of different kinds of trees are planted by the JNF in Israel. Some of them are trees that are mentioned in the Bible like Cypress, Firs, Pines, Olives and other fruit trees, others are varieties that have been found to thrive in this land. Some are fast growing, others take years to mature but live for centuries. For more information about the trees talked of in the scriptures, see the Trees in the Bible section.

6. Where will my tree be planted?
KKL/JNF plants trees on public land especially set aside by the State of Israel. New forests are currently being planted in the mountains of the Galilee, in the Negev desert, and in parklands of towns and cities as part of Israel's urban beautification program.

On the Israel's Forest's – Overview page you can see a map of all Israel's forests.

7. Can I see 'my tree' if I come to Israel?

When you visit Israel, BLT will be delighted to help you to visit one of the KKL/JNF forests – either directly or through your tour leader. Since KKL/JNF plants hundreds of thousands of trees each year, to erect and maintain individual donor signs or keep records for each individual tree planted would cost thousands of dollars – money that everyone understands is much better spent planting new forests and caring for existing ones. So unfortunately we cannot show you "your " tree, but of course we do guarantee that a tree has been planted for you.

8. If JNF actually plants the trees who is Bible Land Trees?

BibleLandTrees is a non-sectarian, non-political group of Jews and Christians based in Jerusalem, the Galilee and the Tel Aviv area of Israel.

Bible Land Trees was specially chosen for this sacred mission by the Jewish National Fund (JNF) - the official caretakers of the Land of Israel and its forests on behalf of the entire Jewish people.

9. When I plant trees, where am I actually paying my donation to?

All the money of your donation is paid directly to the JNF-USA. Using the very best in web-technology our BLT site is seamlessly connected to the highly secure payment services of the JNF site. So that you know just how secure the site it is, last year the JNF-USA safely processed over $2 million of on-line donations.

10. Is my tree planting payment a Tax Deductible donation?

Yes. All contributions to JNF-USA for tree planting or other purposes are tax deductible donations in the USA.
